In year 2018, Bank Indonesia released Gerbang Pembayaran Nasional (GPN), a system that integrates all kinds of transactions that happens between all of the national banks. This were also an act to support Gerakan Nasional non Tunai (GNNT) that will ease the public in doing payment transactions, not only for shopping purposes but also in doing virtual payment such as e-toll transactions and such. Now, GPN cards are already distributed by all of the national banks, and being used by hundred of thousands of user.
For GPN, their main objective were to create a nation wide payment gateway system that is an equal contender to the global brands in the industry, while also staying relevant to the multi layered society of Indonesia.
With our understanding how Bank Indonesia exists not merely as a brand or a goverment’s organization but as a very massive Institution among the public of Indonesia, the GPN brand were created.
